YOU'RE INVITED

As portrait photographers, both of us have had ample opportunity to take photos of smiling faces. What we lacked, however -- and longed for -- was the opportunity to share a story, particularly one that had a tendency to be overlooked. When we learned about the gripping mission of the Tibetan Children's Village, we instantly became attached.

For 54 years, the Tibetan Children's Village has served as a home away from home for over 15,000 children. Moreover, the TCV has aimed to provide each boy and girl with an effective education, as well as a sound understanding of Tibetan identity and culture.

A few months back, Riti and I began sponsoring a child named Tenzin. A spirited boy of 5-years-old, Tenzin Woeten lives and learns at the Tibetan Children's Village, Upper Dharamsala. This past March, we had the pleasure of personally visiting him and his kindergarten classmates. Though many of these kids will never return home, it was incredibly comforting to see that these students are raised as nothing less than brothers and sisters. As persevering as they are, however, these kids are among the lucky ones. Regretfully, the TCV is not financially equipped to care for all the families seeking support.

Of our friends, we ask for a simple donation: Ten for Tenzin. Four 10 dollar donations will provide the food, shelter, education, and medical care a child requires for an entire month. After witnessing this organization first-hand, we wholeheartedly believe the TCV is worth forgoing your next two Starbucks runs.

We invite you to join us for our very first photo exhibition. On May 22nd, come to Restore Collaborative to see images of adorable faces and hear stories of awe-inspiring children. Bring your friends, bring your family -- heck, bring the mailman. We can't wait to see you there!
